Communication in Goa

Communication in GoaGoa being a relatively small state, communication is not a major issue. Most of the major cities and tourism hubs are well connected by different modes of communication. Even though the landline telephone network and the postal system are bedrock of the communication infrastructure, new age means of communication like internet and cell phones are rapidly gaining ground.

The ubiquitous Public Telephone Booths or PCOs are the favorite means of communication for majority of the tourists. One can avail of local and STD/ISD call facilities at these PCOs spread across the length and breadth of the state. Mobile phone penetration is also quite high and a number of cellular operators provide services in Goa.

Internet cafes have come up in most of the major cities and tourist destinations in Goa. Foreign tourists are usually seen thronging these cyber cafes for internet browsing.
