Govind Dev Ji temple
Govind Deo Ji temple is situated in the Jaipur in Rajasthan state of India. It is situated in City Palace complex. The temple is dedicated to Govind Deo Ji (Lord Krishna). The image of the deity was brought from Vrindavan here by Raja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur.
Aartis and Bhog are offered to the deity seven times a day, when the idol is unveiled for 'Darshan'. Thousands of devotees visit the temple daily and even larger number visit during Janmashtami.
The legend of Lord Govind Devji was also known as "Bajrakrit" communicating thereby that it was developed by Bajranabh - The Great Grand Son of Lord Shri Krishna. He asked his Grand Mother as to how Lord Shri Krishna looked like. Then he made an image of Lord Shri Krishna as per the definition given by her. She said that not at all but the feet of that image looked like those of Lord Shri Krishna. After this, he made another image, yet she said that the chest looked like the same. Thereafter, he made the third image and looking at the same she felt Blush and Nodded that yes that was what Lord Shri Krishna looked like. The first one was known with the name Lord "Madan Mohanji". The second one got recognition as Lord "Gopi Nathji ". And then third one, the divine majestic holy image is LORD "GOVIND DEVJI".
The idol of the presiding deity is taken out seven times everyday for 'Aarties' and 'Bhogs' is mostly offered in the silver wares, containing mostly of sweets. Radha Krishna's idols are dressed in different styles and every time for the 'Aarti ' procession where a lot of followers or 'Bhakt' gather around the courtyard for the Darshan of Govind Devji Temple. At present, the most important and popular temple of Govind Devji, attracts many devotees from all over the country.
