ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, AMARAVATHI
The museum has sculptures and monographs from the Chalukyan and Kakatiya periods. A pictorial depiction of Buddha’s life and teachings are among the antiquities in display.
BHAGAVAN MAHAVIR GOVERNMENT MUSEUM, CUDDAPAH
There are ancient stone sculptures, idols and inscriptions dating back several centuries, exhibited in this museum.
KOLANUPAKA SITE MUSEUM
The museum features artifacts from various historical monuments. The main exhibit is a collection of temple architecture from the Someswara temple complex.
NAGARJUNAKONDA MUSEUM
The museum has artifacts dating back to the 3rd century. The main exhibit is the ‘Maha chaitya’. The most sacred of the Stupa sculpture. Tools from palaeolithic and Neolithic times, coins, and coin moulds are also on display. Timings: 9.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m.
VICTORIA JUBILEE REGIONAL MUSEUM, VIJAYWADA
The main collection in the museum revolves around beautiful sculptures and attractive paintings. The ‘Buddha’ Alluru inscriptions from the from the 1st and 2nd centuries are the prominent display in the museum. Arms, gold and silver coins as well as objects of the Golconda kings are exhibited. Location: Bandar Road, Vijayawada.
SRI VENKETESWARA MUSEUM TIRUPATI, CHITOOR
The museum features stone and wooden carvings, articles used for Puja (prayers) and traditional art and architecture from the nearby region.
