Cross Highway 22.45 km from Chandigarh past the Panchkula township. Along a state mad, head towards the hills. Past sleepy hamlets and cultivated terraces. Chugging up a hill climb of above 8000 ft. with wilderness all around. Continue past the pine, to our place in Morni Hills. Nestling in a pocket of pine. Overlooking the humpbacked blue hills in the distance. Hiding in their midst are trek mutes to the bank of the serpentine river Ghaggar, two water bodies and a dilapidated fort of the Queen of Morni. Morni a perfect holiday station for groups and the family. Ideal for such adventure sport as rock climbing, trekking and nature rambles.
Facilities : Restaurant, bar, guest rooms, packed lunch for trekkers.
A short drive from Damdama Lake. The last remnants of the Aravallis survey a Panoramic view. Herein lies Sohna. Pretty as a picture. Bursting with greens and tourist facilities. Adding to its beauty is a whiff history in the from of a ruined bastion on an adjoining hill - once a glowing stronghold of local chieftains. Another hint of history comes from the Sohna town below : the waters, in times old, showed traces of gold, giving to the town the glittering name of Sohna.
To stay in Sohna is to relive some of the deepest moments of silence. Pollution. High rise sounds are far cry. The early morning sounds are just the call of peacocks. The chimes of the temple bells tom the nearby Sohna town. The greens here delight with simple groves. Clusters of flowers and shrubs. A sprinkling of pines and the drapes of evergreen veronia. The Tastefully designed bath complex is a special attraction. Here we have a sauna, massage and steam bath chamber : A splash pool and a pool side cafe : For the tourist with exclusive preferences - there are luxurious cottages. For the family man lie family cottages and motel wings. A new restaurant and bar block look out to the panoramic view that unfolds below. Sohna by night is breathtaking. For down below, the lights of the town glimmer like a million fire flies. A solitary vehicle shovels off the darkness once in a while. The only urban noises come from your room.
